MYOTHERAPY &  REMEDIAL MASSAGE

Myotherapy may help prevent and alleviate pain, enhance movement and function and help in maintain the functional alignment of the skeletal system. It offers a range of opportunities for your body to heal itself with the help of a qualified professional. It can also give you techniques, lifestyle changes and above all, the awareness, to keep you feeling great.

Myotherapists assess and treat myofascial pain, injury and dysfunction affecting movement and mobility. A holistic view on treating and assessment will enable the therapist to locate and repair damage and to support and speed up the body’s own repair mechanisms and to assist in the management of injury and alleviate pain and discomfort.
There is an emphasis on preventative, corrective and rehabilitative outcomes to restore and maintain the normal integrity of the soft tissue structure (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia) of the human body. All treatments are individually tailored to get the best possible outcomes.

Within the holistic treatment may be prescribed a range of measures to get you back to your physical best. The treatment is tailored to suit your specific needs and the hands-on techniques themselves are varied, and can include:
  • Myofascial Cupping
  • Remedial Massage/ Deep Tissue Massage
  • Myofascial Release (MFR)
  • Muscle energy (MET's) and neuromuscular (NMT's) techniques.
  • Neural stretching.
  • Dry needling.

Other holistic measures could include:

  • A take home program consisting of exercises for stretching and strengthening.
  • Diet and nutrition.
